Chris D. Olin is the Founder and President of Tier4 Research. The company was started in 2020 with a goal of communicating interesting trends evident within the upstream aerospace channels (also known tier-4 suppliers), specialty materials markets, and other niche metals. Chris has researched and analyzed these under-followed markets since 1999, leveraging a vast network of premium forge, titanium, nickel-based alloy, stainless steel, titanium and aluminum industry contacts.
Prior to forming Tier4 Research, Chris was a founding partner at both Cleveland Research Company and Longbow Research, where he helped establish a bottoms-up survey process tp provide investors with accurate data points and stock-focused information. In the past, Boeing, Allegheny Technologies, Carpenter Technology, Howmet Aerospace, Arconic, Hexcel, and Precision Castparts were names under formal coverage.
Chris has twice been named by Forbes Magazine as one of the top stock pickers in the metals and materials universe. In 2006, he was highlighted as the #6 stock picker in the country (across all markets) and #1 ranked for metals and mining. He frequently speaks at major industry conferences, presenting findings from his proprietary survey-work and analytics. Chris attended Eastern Michigan University and Cleveland State University and currently lives in Cleveland, OH. When he is not working, Chris enjoys watching the Cleveland Browns, Top Gun, and Golden Girls reruns.
